Our Viewing Facility, The Lab, is now open and available for hire! Located in the heart of Bristol in the famous Paintworks site just 5 minutes by car from Bristol Temple Meads Station.
State of the Art Viewing Facility
The space:
Our state of the art viewing facility consists of a viewing room and a usability lab (respondent room) with a one way mirror adjoining the two rooms. The facility is fitted with the latest HD recording equipment, is fully sound-proofed and can accommodate a range of different use environments. Both the viewing room and usability lab are fitted with specialised lighting which can be dimmed or brightened to suit your lighting environment needs.
The Lab is available for hire as a standalone viewing facility (viewing room and usability lab) with a manned reception to welcome all participants and assist with consent capture. HD video and audio recording is included in the rate of hire and refreshments are also provided for you and your participants.
Outside of the lab, there is a large lounge which serves as a participant waiting room and/ or additional working space. Our reception is manned at all times and our staff prepare your recordings each day in-line with your desired respondent coding.
Our Services
In addition to the Lab hire we can arrange:
- Full Catering (Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner). We support local businesses to provide healthy, ethically sourced food to our clients. You can pre-select your food or select on the day. Ask for more info!

Moderation and Observation – We can provide Moderators and Observers who are trained in Formative and Summative Evaluations, Focus Groups and One to One interviews.

Recruitment – We have teamed with local recruitment partners to source users (patients, healthcare professionals and healthy volunteers) from all over Bristol for studies. Bristol is home to over 12 Hospitals and Specialist Institutes from the Bristol Royal Infirmary, Bristol Eye hospital, Bristol Royal Hospital for Children, Bristol Haematology and Oncology Centre and the Bristol Heart Institute. Bristol has a vast socio-economic and culturally diverse pool of users. No matter your recruitment specification we can assist you to find the right users for your studies.

Transcription service – As research specialists we can transcribe your video footage either verbatim or edited (with comments pulled out as verbatim). This can save you time whilst you work on analysing the key data points.

Customisable means
We can set-up the lab in any use environment you desire! Frequently used environments include:
- In-Home – The lab can be fitted with sofa’s, rugs, tables and chairs to simulate a sitting or dining room environment.
- In-Clinic – We can set up the lab to replicate a doctor’s (GP’s) office.
- Operating Theatre – We can set up the lab with an Operating Table, Surgical lights, Surgical Trolleys, IV poles and Simulation dummy’s (available on request at an additional charge).
- Outdoors – We can change the flooring to simulate outdoor gravel or grass should you wish to test ‘emergency’ or ‘on the go’ use scenarios.
- Traditional Meeting Room – The lab can also be set-up to simulate a traditional meeting room environment with space for up to 15 people, perfect for focus groups or one to one interviews.

Car Parking
Parking on-site (to be arranged prior to arrival) and ample space for bicycles with shower facilities.
Public Transport
10 minutes’ walk from Bristol Temple Meads station and is served by a number of buses running to and from the centre of Bristol, Temple Meads station and Bath.

Bristol Airport is only 20 minutes by when travelling by car and our city centre location means that you are spoilt for choice when it comes to accommodation.
