About Human Factors Centre

The Human Factors Centre is a Bristol based consultancy which specialises in assisting medical device manufacturers and pharmaceutical companies to conduct Human Factors and Usability activities including all aspects of the Human Factors and Usability Engineering file, Formative and Summative testing.

Founded in January 2017, our background is in Human Factors, Usability, User Experience and Product Design. Over the years we have helped guide numerous companies in how to successfully conduct front end user research, usability test their products and navigate the needs of regulators within the Medical device and Combination Product domains.

About Human Factors Training

In 2018 the Human Factors Centre split into two Separate companies; HFC and HFCT. The main motivation to split the companies was to expand our training capability into an education centre and support community for Human Factors professionals in the UK and Europe.

Many practitioners find themselves migrating to Human Factors from other disciplines such as Product Design, Service Design, Engineering an Industrial Design.

Courses in Human Factors are few and far between and a number of higher education degree courses no longer specialise in Human Factors. However, the need for Human Factors for Medical Devices is growing. The Human Factors and Usability Regulatory Pathway is strengthening and the scrutiny on manufacturers to comply with good Human Factors is getting more rigid. Therefore, we aim to educate companies in how to effectively implement Human Factors within their organisations and to provide the help and support to practitioners who are responsible for the delivery of Human Factors recommendations within Product Development.
